There will be six lead characters in total for house of the dragon. The actors all have some connection with HBO’s Game of Thrones.
Paddy Considine stars as King Viserys Targaryen. He’s a decent man whose demeanour makes him unfit for the task. The Great Council of Westeros Lords chose him to become the king following the death of his grandfather Jaehaerys Targaryen.
Olivia Cooke stars as Alicent Hightower, the daughter of Hand of the King Otto Hightower. Alicent is described by HBO as “the most comely woman in the Seven Kingdoms.

Matt Smith, known to many as a star of “The Crown” as well as “Doctor Who,” will play Prince Daemon Targaryen. He is King Viserys’ younger brother. He is a brave knight and dragonrider, but he is unstable and displays a cruel streak that can be seen across the board. Otto Hightower doesn’t want him next in line.
Steve Toussaint Steve Toussaint (Doctor Who) plays Lord Corlys Velaryon. He’s also known as “the Sea Snake” and is the leader of House Velaryon. He is married to Princess Rhaenys Velaryon (Nurse Jackie) and they are a Targaryen dragonrider. The Great Council for the Monarchy passed him over in favor of her cousin Viserys, who is a man.
Sonoya Mizuno, actress in “Ex Machina”, plays Mysaria. She is a former slave who worked her way up to become Prince Daemon’s most trusted advisor.
Fabien Frankel, the “The Serpent”, star will play Ser Criston Col, a common-born Dornish sailor (remember Dorne?) This is where Oberyn Marstell [Pedro Pascal] came from. His skill with the knife is helping him climb the Westerosi social ladder. He’ll be known later as “Criston The Kingmaker”, after he played a key role in one the story’s most significant moments, according To Inverse.
Miley Alcock and Emily Carey
Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon has added two new recurring cast members. Milly Alcock has joined the lineup as a younger version of Rhaenyra Targaryen, while Emily Carey has been cast as the young Alicent Hightower.
